Submerged Arc Furnace Automation System (SAF-1 & SAF-2)
Retrofitting • Project Execution • AMC Support
This project involves the automation, modernization, and long-term maintenance
of Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF-1 and SAF-2) systems, critical to high-temperature
metallurgical processing. The scope includes retrofitting of existing control systems,
complete project execution, and ongoing AMC support to ensure reliable and safe furnace operation.
The automation solution focuses on stable furnace operation, precise electrical control,
and continuous process monitoring. Critical parameters such as current, voltage,
electrode position, and furnace status are continuously supervised to maintain
consistent production and protect equipment from abnormal operating conditions.
The control architecture is implemented using Siemens PLC S7-300
integrated with a SCADA system and dedicated control panels.
This configuration provides centralized monitoring, real-time diagnostics,
alarm management, and historical data analysis, ensuring efficient furnace operation
and simplified maintenance.
